Kansas Day Podcasts

Kansas Day was last week, and we learned about the symbols that are important to Kansas. In groups, students researched, wrote scripts, rehearsed, created visuals, and produced iMovie podcasts. I'm not joking when I say that the students were in charge of producing these podcasts 100%! I was waiting for our iPads to get the iMovie app on them, showed them a couple things on the app, and put them to work! They were all completed in a matter of 45 minutes. Awesome! We are so grateful for the iPads, this would have taken forever on the laptops!

Celebrating Kansas Day and the 100th Day of School!

What a big week it was -- the 100th day of school AND Kansas Day in the same week! Lots to celebrate, check it out!

Searching and exploring town names in Kansas on Kansas maps:

Kansas Day cupcakes! 

Students learned all about the Kansas seal and the symbols in the seal and why they are important to our great state. Then we made flags!

On the 100th Day of School, we played a few new math games: Spinning for 100 and 100 coin flip! So fun!

Students also did an art project of what they will look like when they are 100 years old. If you come to the school, be sure to check them out!
