Skype Storytime....from across the ocean!

We were so fortunate to have Keaton's uncle, Jared, skype in to our classroom and read us the story If You Take a Mouse To School. Jared lives in Pohang, South Korea. We had zero tech glitches and enjoyed hearing the story and learning a bit about the area. It was 2:30 in Kansas, and 5:30am the next day in Pohang! Jared also taught the class how to say "hello" in Korean.... it sounds like "Ahn-young", and the kids had fun practicing that with a bow. :)

Thanks, Jared! We really enjoyed talking with you!

Skype Story Time!

We had a special guest reader on Tuesday --- Noah's dad, Nathaniel! He read the story Piggie Pie via Skype. This worked out so well and we really enjoyed this funny story!

If you know of someone who would like to read to us over Skype, please let me know!

Skype Story Time!

For the past 2 weeks, we've had several special guest readers visit our classroom -- via Skype! Students got to listen to books read from all over the US and even Canada! Here are a few of the guests readers that we were so lucky to have share a story with us!

Mr. Turner - Mrs. Mathes's HS teacher and track coach. Thank you, Mr. T! He read The Diggiest Dog. Mr. Turner is from Washington, KS.

Ryan from Calgary skyped our class, and we learned about the location of Calgary, the time and temperature difference!

Ryan read Too Many Toys to the class. Thanks, Ryan!

This is what we looked like to the people reading to us!
Mrs. Mathes's friend, Bonnie, read The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Bonnie is from Seattle, Washington. We even got to see Bonnie's 2 dogs, Mugsy and Regal. Thanks, Bonnie!
